Another great choice is Valentine’s Day. This is the perfect theme for a February wedding. What better theme than one based on the lover’s holiday? This is a great advantage to ramp up the romance in your wedding design. You can use the motifs of hearts and red colored flowers and blossoms to give the room an excellent look. You can also look to other famous Valentine’s Day images of cupid. For the ceremony, try to blend these in a manner that will provide an elegant and romantic look to your ceremony location. For the reception you will have much more room to let your imagination soar. You can make your reception into one of the all time great Valentine’s Day parties with chocolate desserts, menus designed around famous romantic dinners and a great selection of love ballads and songs to serenade your guests.

Another popular theme is the black and white wedding. This is a classy and elegant theme that matches the winter season perfectly in its stark contrasts and sophisticated simplicity. This is the type of wedding that is perfect because it does not have to match any particular holiday and can still be considered to be a great choice for a winter ceremony and reception.

The result is something that has old time beauty and an unforgettable look that will leave a great impression on your attendees. To add to glitz to your decorations try incorporating sparking elements such as glitter, sequins, and some crystal. These are just some of the many themes that you can use for your winter wedding after the holiday season. The important thing is that there are several ideas you can use for you winter wedding that don’t have to follow the same boring pattern. You just have to think of themes that best match the season and what you want to do.

7 Fun and Interesting Bridal Shower Games

The Bridal shower is a great opportunity for a brides’ friends and family to give her gifts that will help her start her new life. This is an old tradition that started to help brides who did not have their own dowry for various reasons. So to make up for it family and friends would come together to give her gifts to help her start her new life. The bridal party is now a staple wedding event and is considered as a wedding pre party. One tradition that is very much alive at a Bridal Shower is party games. If you are a maid of honor planning the Bridal shower for your friend or family member here are some great games that you can play that will be sure to entertain the attendees at your Bridal shower.

Have a game of Bridal Family Feud. Have guests split up into teams. Before the party starts, look up survey on the top wedding traditions and items. The aim of the game is for each team to earn points by guessing the most common answer to trivia questions. The team that answers the most questions correctly wins.

Another game is bridal bingo. Make or purchase wedding themed bingo cards and call out the various wedding words. The person who has a full row completed and shouts bingo will win. The point of the game is to play something everyone young and old can enjoy and tie it to the upcoming nuptials.

Have a game of charades. Have the guests split up into groups and pantomime common marriage and bridal terms, customs, or items. The goal is for each team to correctly guess the bridal topic being acted out. This is a game that will get everyone moving and excited.

An interesting game is the Bling Bling Ring game. In this game guests are given plastic diamond rings upon arriving. When everyone has received a ring and has gotten settled they all twist their rings. The ring that starts to flash is the winning ring. This is a great door prize game and everyone can keep the rings as great mementos of the bridal shower.

You can also have a relay game. Split up the more nimble guests into teams. Each team will have to do small tasks that a wife normally does such as make a bed, clean a room, and cook a meal. At the end of the relay the last person has to dress up in full gear as housewife, office worker, or bride.

You can also have the shower at a bowling alley. Have a couple of games and see who can get the best score. This is a great way to bond with family especially if bowling is a family activity that is done regularly.

A great bridal shower game to play is Honey Moon. In Honey Moon the bride is blindfolded and she is given a pile of clothes and a suitcase. Her job is within a certain time limit to pack for her honey moon. At the end of the time period she has to wear whatever she packed over her own clothes. Then everyone can take pictures of the funny result. This is a great way for everyone at the party to create fun memories of the bridal shower.

4 Important Responsibilities For the Groomsmen

by Andrea McClure

It just might not be possible to pull off a good wedding with out the bridesmaids and their counter part, the groomsmen. After all they do for you to help pull of a perfect wedding; you will understand why they get groomsmen gifts. The groomsman gifts are the least you can do to thank them for all their help and sacrifice. Just think how much you?d have to pay some one to put up with you as you are stressing out about the wedding and to be a ?Johnny-on-the-spot? for you on the big day!

The groomsmen of today have it pretty easy. Well, easy compared to their medieval counterparts. Back in the days of yore, they would travel with the groom great distances, by standards of the day, and were expected to do battle with the highwaymen and roving hordes of bandits. Meanwhile, the second in command, the best man, would guard the ring with his life. They were very much a protection detail to get the groom to the wedding alive. While there is no need for that now, it would still be bad form to allow the groom to get mugged on the way to the alter! Nowadays things are much safer for the groomsmen but their responsibilities are just as important.

They are now the male contingent to the wedding party. They are expected to attend the engagement party, the rehearsal dinner and the ceremony. Then of course the men?s wedding shower, the bachelor party. During all this, they are expected to give gift at the same places as the rest of the guest. They are also expected to pay for their tuxedo and, if they have to travel, the cost of their accommodations. With the bachelor party they are expected to pay for themselves and a share of the grooms cost. While a bit of debauchery is expected, they are also not to get the groom into trouble with the future Mrs. nor let him do that to him self. At the wedding itself they often serve as ushers but then march with the bridesmaids to the alter. During the reception they dance with the bridesmaids at the appointed songs. Later, as the bridesmaids are doing hostess duties, the groomsmen are the muscle. Not like beating people up and such, but helping move the gifts and other thing that would look odd to see a bridesmaids do (move a table or chair).

With all they do it is customary to give the grooms men a gift. This is usually done before the bachelor party or right before the wedding. Right before the wedding tends to be a very good time because it is right before they are forced to stand through the taking of the wedding photos and when they are performing their most important task, moral support. They should have been doing that all along but today it is most important.

There is no etiquette on how much to spend or rather they should all be the same or individual, it is up to the groom. Take some time to think about it and put the same effort into your choice as they have been taking in your wedding. Maybe get them all tickets to a ball game next year or personalized item for each that reflect the groomsman. The choice is yours.

How To Pick Out The Right Bridal Shower Favours – Sure Fire Way To Make Sure Your Wedding Or Bridal Shower Will Be A Success

by Debbie Vera

Out of many great things about modern wedding favors it would be hard to single out one that stands above the rest. But certainly near the top of the list is how they can also serve as bridal shower favors. Decorative, practical, fun, lovely, and highly appreciated as tokens, they represent one of the best wedding investments you can make.

Imagine a pizza cutter decorated with a special phrase selected by the bride and groom. Made of beautiful porcelain, they’re highly ornamental. But with stainless steel blades they will also be used long after the bridal shower is finished. It doesn’t get any better than this.

Consider the humble sewing kit. Utilitarian, yet lovely. Practical, while standing for home. Offering a colorful plaid design they evoke memories of Fall while they offer a useful set of tools. That’s a bridal shower gift that is a success all around.

How about some individualized personal care items? Monogrammed with the names of the bride and guest, they will long be thought of as a treasured souvenir of the happy event. At the same time, the nail clippers, file, and more will see regular use long after the special occasion has come and gone.

Bath soap is an ever popular bridal shower favor, for reasons not hard to understand. Offering delicate scents and lovely colors, they fit neatly in a clear heart-shaped bridal shower favor box. That grants them to be exhibited to provide not only a gift but a fine decoration at the party.

Make some other fine scents on the bridal shower day by putting out some coffee-scented candles. Set in delicate miniature glass cups, they provide a lovely aroma and a beautiful item for the tables.

Ceramic honey pot bridal shower favors always bring out the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahhs’. Decorated with images of Spring, they’re the perfect choice for that April bridal shower that precedes the June wedding. You’ll find later that they grace many a guest’s bathroom counter top purely as a lovely decoration.

A retro silver teapot timer offers a useful gift that also hints of old-time elegance. Everyone expects the love brewing during this season will far outlast the bridal shower, the wedding, and beyond. This little souvenir will remind everyone of those joyous affairs.

There are lots of charming place card holders to pick out from for the bridal shower, as well. The tiny grand piano ones are fun, practical, and match perfectly with miniature silk rose decorations. Your guest will ask “Ain’t love grand?” on seeing these.

Any season is the perfect time to employ laser-cut butterfly placecard holders. With small fluttering creatures in paper lace at the top and the guests name across the center, everyone will recognize where they stand.

Select the ultimate in elegance with individually monogrammed note cards. Perfect for writing those thank you notes, they can also double as place card holders.

How To Get Cheap Wedding Favors That Are Classy And Elegant

by Veronica Plesky

Looking for low-priced wedding favors themes? You are not alone. A wedding can be so much these days, and while you want everything to be nice and give your guests a small gift to say that you are glad they came, you will surely want to keep some money for the honeymoon as well!

The good word is that you can save a lot on your wedding favors by returning to the traditional wedding favor idea: candy. This way you can get something fabulous without having to spend a lot of money.

Of course you would not just buy a Hershey bar and entrust it on people’s plates! You will want to put a little time in to getting unique wedding favors that are personalized, so that all of your guests will want to save them for a keepsake after they ate the candy.

The best way to do this is by being creative with the container for your wedding favours. It is cheaper not to buy candy that comes pre-packed in little boxes for weddings, but just place some small boxes that you can find online and then place whatever kind of candy you desire inside. You may want to use a cupcake liner too. A lot of people pick out chocolates but this is not necessarily a good idea if the weather is hot. Sugared almonds are one established favorite. You can get them in several unique colors. Or M&Ms, or mints. How about fudge? Or just go for your own personal favorite nuts or candies!

If you do not want to use candy, then if you are engaged in plants, how about a packet of seeds? You could select something that would grow pretty flowers in your wedding colors and cue guests of you.

You may want to have the packages pre-printed with your names and a picture of you as a couple. Alternatively, you can make a wrapper for the box from paper or textile that is individualized. Depending how much time you have, you could even embroider on it with your names, the date and a small design. This would be a very low cost way to create memorable favors. If you are light of time yourself possibly you have a gifted friend or family member who would enjoy to do this for you.

Another possibility is to use glass containers for your wedding favours. You can buy standard small glasses and have them engraved. This may cost a little more for the engraving, but it would create something that the invitees would for certain keep forever. You can fill with candy, popcorn or nuts and raisins, and cover in tulle tied with a ribbon.

Candles are a popular wedding favor idea and you can even produce your own. Buy beeswax and wicks at a craft store, and gather several shells – you can do this on holiday, or if you live near the beach. Or of course you could buy the shells too. Get instructions from the craft store on how to melt the beeswax and add the wick. Tie a ribbon around the finished candles.

This should give you many ideas for affordable wedding favors that you can use or that will prompt you to come up with your own.
