How To Get Your Ex Back
Breaking up is hard to do: it’s a plain fact of life that everyone breaks up with someone they love now and then. Break ups are also weird, because other things in life become simpler and easier with practice, break ups are the opposite: each break up seems to be as difficult as either of the previous ones, regardless of how many times you’ve done it. After a break up there is also a strong desire for people to get their ex back.
Almost all relationships follow the same pattern. Peaches and cream when you first go out and then after getting comfortable with the other person, you adapt to come out well. After a while, some tiny things you didn’t take note of in the beginning will grow annoying and lead to fights.
There is a saying that fits well in this case: “familiarity breeds contempt”. It’s a big effort to not take each other for granted. Relationships cannot work in any other way. Even if you are doing really well though, it can happen that your other half wants to break up. Here are some things you can do in order to get your ex back if worst comes to worst.
Say that you’re sorry. This is one of the hardest decisions for so many people in relationships. It can be because they don’t believe they did something wrong, but it can also be simply that they need to be told what they did wrong, they can’t see it. Before apologizing it’s pertinent to find out what your partner is angry about and why this was wrong. A sincere sorry should also never lead to more fighting. You have to always tell the truth and be respectful.
Discuss the issue. When your ex is prepared to talk about the situation, you should start talking right away and not wait. Don’t pressure your ex into discussion, that never works. And again be careful that the things you discuss don’t lead to further argumentation. It’s important to be wary while you talk to your ex and if you notice the discussion going in a bad way then change tack.
Be patient and talk about truths. There is no way you should ever start faulting your ex for the way things worked out. That’s the best way to stay estranged. The purpose of this conversation is simply to talk about things as patient, wise and knowledgeable adults.
Give your ex room to move. It might look sensible to rush into things and just discuss your case all over again hoping that your ex will be ready for you. It’s not very sensible though, because people deal with problems at different speeds and your ex may not be as up to speed as you are. Don’t worry too much about this as it isn’t a bad sign, it just means you need to wait a bit more before your ex will be ready to discuss issues with you again. Give your ex the room they need to think. You will know anyway when they are ready by the way they respond to you in conversation.
It’s not easy to break up with someone as the famous song attests “breaking up is hard to do”. Most likely, the more happy you were with your ex the more sad you’ll be without them next to you. But when you figure out how to talk about what the problems were, then your chances will also improve drastically in making a comeback to a great relationship.
